Saturday night finds Music at Merchants stalwarts Mr Black and Andrea Nibbers playing across the board. From sleazy disco to iconic pop, they bring their shameless love of a good groove and a killer hook to the fore

Sunday afternoon is a time for deep relaxation in front of the big Tannoy speakers – and for that we turn to one of the masters, DJ Mach V, who’ll be playing his nuanced blend of thoughtful electronica and head-nodding grooves from 4 – 8pm in the bar

Music at Merchants – week 18th May

May 18, 2015

Another five of London’s best selectors are back this week to add some musical magic to the bar at Merchants Tavern

On Thursday night, Nick Luscombe (BBC Radio 3 Late Junction/Flomotion) returns to the Merchants Tavern stereo with an upfront selection of electronic and acoustic music from around the world

Charlotte Hatherley (Sylver Tongue) makes her Merchants Tavern debut with a night of deep electronic music on Friday night, partly inspired by her adventures in soundtracks – expect lush synth pop, wonky 80s grooves and more
Our new Saturday afternoon sessions continue with Baylen Leonard (Amazing Radio) playing Americana, folk, roots and actual Country music. The fun starts at 2pm.
On Saturday night we welcome back the back with the improbably large and funky record collection – Ray Mang (Eskimo/DFA/Mangled) returns to add some deep disco and balearic feel into your evening
Sunday afternoons are a time to mellow out things considerably, and for that we turn to Mark Greenfield (Los Desterrados) as the perfect man for the job. With one toe in the Yacht club, he keeps it just the right side of all-out schmaltz.
